Why Google had to remove much-loved Share App Feature in Latest Play Store Update?
This might little upset you if you were so much used to the Share App, a file-sharing app on Google Play that allows users directly share free apps using Quick Share without needing Wi-Fi or cellular data, that the developer has finally decided to bid farewell to this much-loved mobile feature on its latest Play Store Update:
According to report, Google Play Store 44.1, with its December 2024 System Update, removes this feature that was interduced in 2021. Until now, users had been able to share free apps directly by using Quick Share.
The Share apps feature made it easier to share apps across the Play Store by simply heading to Profile Icon > Manage apps & devices. Removing it may upset a few users, but Google offers an alternative through the Files by Google app, which lets users share apps.
Phasing out 'Share apps' aside, the update has a number of other additions and improvements, including:
Visual improvements in the Apps and Games search tabs.
New notification settings in Google Play.
A refreshed settings page to manage cross-device services and invitations.
Wear OS updates, including faster updates with Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity over Bluetooth and offline timezone adjustments
These changes are a step towards modernized sharing solutions, leaving behind some of the older features for more innovative tools for the Android enthusiast.
